As the Head of Access Services, I ensure that my team and I are always here to help. Whether it’s finding the perfect book, tracking down that elusive VHS your professor placed on Reserves, offering expert ILL support, providing research assistance, or even helping you find the ideal study spot. My mission is to make sure every Cowles Library visitor feels seen, supported, and valued.
I earned my BA in English and History from Augustana College and my Master’s in Information and Library Science from the University of Denver. Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a passion for creating inclusive and welcoming library spaces where all users can thrive. As a first-generation college graduate, immigrant, and non-native English speaker, I bring a personal understanding of the challenges students face and a deep commitment to advocating for diverse perspectives in higher education.
Currently, I’m pursuing a PhD in Education at Drake University, focusing on information literacy for non-native English speakers in higher education. This research continues to shape my work, helping me better engage with and support diverse student populations.
When I’m not tackling research inquiries, you can find me hiking new trails, homesteading, or exploring the community. And, of course, true to my public library roots, I’m always happy to recommend the perfect book for any mood or occasion.
My leadership philosophy centers on balancing accountability with care, adaptability with strategy, and, above all, a genuine love for libraries and the people they serve.
