As STEM Librarian, I am the Cowles Library conduit to the biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, kinesiology, mathematics, undergraduate health sciences, and physics & astronomy departments. I design and deliver instruction, library programming, and services that facilitate the curricular and research needs of students and faculty in the STEM disciplines. I also develop and manage collections in assigned STEM liaison areas, including selecting and withdrawing materials and participating in collaborative collection development decisions.

I develop and teach information literacy-based library instruction sessions, including four courses I've designed and currently teach at Drake:

  • Science Fiction, Science Fact
  • Communicating Science
  • Science & Democracy
  • Fake News, Filters, & Falsehoods

My research interests include:

  • Information literacy in the sciences
  • Making science accessible to wider audiences
  • Combating misinformation in the sciences

When I'm not working at Drake, I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading science & sci-fi books, being a baseball fan, & cooking.
