Archives Teaching Support

The Drake University Archives and Special Collections is dedicated to enriching the Drake learning experience by supporting instructional endeavors. We encourage instructors and students to explore our archival collections, which provide invaluable primary sources for course development and research.

Services

An Introduction to Archival Research

A class that provides students with a general introduction to the archives, and assists them with using primary sources in their personal and academic research. The class includes discussing what to expect when visiting the archives; the responsibilities of archivists; and provides instruction in searching archival finding aids.

Course Development Assistance

Assists instructors with using primary documents from the University’s archives to develop their courses.
