Lockers

Cowles Library provides Drake students, faculty, and staff with free, self-service lockers for temporary storage of items.

Items stored in Cowles Library Lockers must be removed before the library closes each day. Please check the website for up-to-date hours. A limited number of lockers are available for up to 7-day use by request at the Information Desk.

The lockers are located near the restrooms on all three floors. Locker instructions are located both inside of the locker doors and on signs posted on the doors. Please visit the Information Desk on the main level with any questions or if you require help.

Usage is subject to the following:

  • Locker use is limited to one per individual on a first come, first served basis.
  • Lockers do not stay locked after opened with code. 4-digit code needs to be set after each time the locker is opened.
  • Items left in the lockers overnight will be removed by Cowles Library and held for five days at the Information Desk. After five days, items of value (laptops, wallets, etc.), will be given to Drake Public Safety and the rest will be donated, recycled or thrown out.
  • The library is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items stored in lockers. Please reach out to the Information Desk (515-271-2111 or cowleslibrary@drake.edu) if your items have been removed.
  • Library material must be checked out before being stored in lockers.
  • Non-circulating library materials may not be stored in lockers.
  • All Cowles Library Staff have access to the override code to open lockers.
  • Public Safety and Cowles Library may inspect lockers if needed.
