Drake faculty members may authorize one or more other people to borrow library materials for them on the faculty member’s account. This authorization is usually extended to staff or students who are assisting the faculty member with research and is valid at both the Law Library and Cowles Library.
Faculty members should submit the Faculty Proxy Request Form on this page using their Drake email address and specifying the length of the authorization. The library will send a confirmation email once the proxy has been created.
A current faculty request must be on file at the time of checkout. When checking out, the authorized proxy must tell the person working at the Information Desk that they are checking out materials as a faculty proxy. Library materials are checked out on the faculty member’s account and receive faculty loan periods.
As with their own checkouts, faculty members are responsible for all library materials checked out to their account by a proxy. You can verify the items checked out to you at any time by visiting My Library Account.
Please email the library at circulation@drake.edu with additional proxy questions.
