Chronicle of Higher Education

Cowles has provided access to the Chronicle of Higher Education to all Drake employees and students for a number of years. Based in Washington, D.C., the Chronicle has more than 70 writers, editors, and international correspondents. Online, the Chronicle is published every weekday and is a top destination for news, advice, and jobs for people in academe.

If you've already set up your account, simply go to the Chronicle websiteIf you don't have an account, follow the instructions below:

Unlike most of the Library's resources, in order to take advantage of the Chronicle, you must complete a one-time registration process. It's pretty simple, but it requires your Drake email address.

  1. Go to https://cowles-proxy.drake.edu/login?url=https://www.chronicle.com/account/login?, which will lead you to this screen:

  2. Click the Sign Up tab and fill in the form with your details, making sure to use your Drake email address. Note: the password you choose is not linked to your normal Drake login.
  3. Click Sign Up, and you should see a message like this:

  4. You’ll receive an email with the subject line "Chronicle: Confirm New Account"; click on the link in that email, and you're ready to login!

We hope you find this useful. Contact cowleslibrary@drake.edu with any questions.
