Drake Faculty OER Grant - Fall 2022: Purpose

Purpose

Quality OER course materials can promote inclusive student success by reducing the cost of course materials. The intent of the program is to provide professional development related to the adoption of OER course materials and promote the use of OER course materials at Drake University. The grant was sponsored by the Office of the Provost.

Fall 2022 Grant Requirements to receive $500 stipend

Activities

  1. October 7, 3:30-5:00 p.m. – participate in a virtual workshop (1.5 hours), which will introduce

    the program, the participants, and provide a brief content overview.

  2. Throughout the Fall 2022 semester, complete (asynchronously) OER online learning modules.

  3. Actively participate in online discussion on Microsoft Teams (there will be a channel dedicated

    to this program). Each learning module will have a discussion question to which you will be

    expected to respond.

  4. On or before December 16, 2022, write a book review of an OER selected from the Open

    Education Network (OEN). You will write the review using OEN’s criteria.

  5. At the end of the Fall 2022 semester, complete an evaluation form related to the effectiveness

    of the program.
