Sociology

A pathway and access to databases and other library resources for sociology research

Get Started

1. Get background information on your topic from subject encyclopedias written by experts in sociology. These overviews can also be handy when you're searching for a topic.

2. Search  sociology databases (click box on left) to find scholarly journal articles and SuperSearch to find books and DVDs.

3. Find data by using the resources in the Statistics tab on the left.

4. Keep track of your sources and generate your bibliography by using a citation manager.

5. Meet with a librarian  if you need help thinking through your research question and finding quality information. Look for the email and appointment links under my picture. This guide is intended to get you started; it is not an exhaustive list of all Cowles resources on sociology. Let's work together 1:1, either in person or via Zoom, as you focus and develop your research!
