OverDrive / Libby

Welcome

Welcome to the Cowles Library OverDrive/Libby guide. Here you will find information on how to use both OverDrive and Libby to access eBook and audiobook content.  Please note that we have access to these resources through the MOBIUS Consortium, so you will see the MOBIUS logo in various places.

  • All current Drake faculty, staff, and students may access the OverDrive Collection. You will need to sign-in using your Drake login credentials.
  • Audiobooks and eBooks can be checked out for 7, 14, or 21 days at a time.  You may borrow up to 10 titles at a time.  Once you have reached the limit you will need to return a book before you can check out a new one. (You can return books early—you don't have to wait for the loan to expire.)
  • You can browse, check out and read books online here, or you can use the Libby app on your mobile device.
  • You may wish to check to see if your local public library also has access to OverDrive. Des Moines, West Des Moines, Urbandale, Waukee, and Ankeny Public Libraries offer eBooks and audiobooks through OverDrive/Libby. You can have access to multiple libraries on Libby, so if you are already using OverDrive/Libby through your public library you can add MOBIUS as an additional library.

Using OverDrive

Before using OverDrive, you must first create an account on OverDrive.

Step One: Go to the MOIBUS OverDrive site at https://mobius.overdrive.com/

Step Two: Click on the 'Sign In' link near the upper right.

Step Three: On the next page—the Welcome screen— you will select Drake University from a dropdown list and then click Sign In.

Step Four: On the next page, use your Drake credentials to log into your account.  If you are logged into other Drake resources in the same browser, single sign on (SSO) will automatically sign you into your account.

Step Five: Now you're ready to borrow eBooks and audiobooks!
