AI and Bias

AI platforms collect information from various sources across the internet. There is a lack of transparency around the datasets that these AI platforms are currently using. The problem is not only around the transparency of sources but also that the biases inherent to the web have been transferred to the artificial intelligence platforms themselves. Therefore artificial intelligence responses can contain racial and gender stereotypes and other various biases (e.g. bias against disability, age, sexual orientation etc.) in both image and language-based models.
