Library Building Hours
Cowles Library will be accessible via the north entrance to those with a current Drake ID during open building hours listed below. The 24/7 After Hours area will NOT be accessible when the library is closed. Normal hours and access are scheduled to resume on Monday, April 13, but are subject to change. Please check this page for updates to Cowles Library hours and access.

Online Chat Service Hours
Our Ask a Librarian online chat service will be available Monday-Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. You can access the chat service on the Library Help page, or look for the “Chat Now” widget in the right margin of our web pages and SuperSearch.
FastTRAC and InterLibrary Loan
FastTRAC borrowing and lending has been suspended.
Articles which can be delivered electronically will continue to be available via ILL. However, tangible items may not be available.
Archives & Special Collections
University Archives & Special Collections will be closed to in-person services until April 6. We will still be working with phone and email inquiries to provide the best possible solutions to our patrons’ needs. This is an evolving situation and changes may occur. Please check archives.library.drake.edu for updates.
COVID-19 Information Resources
A group of Cowles librarians has created a guide to COVID-19 that includes information resources, links to state and national public health websites, and guidance for preventing illness.
Drake University’s COVID-19 novel coronavirus page also contains valuable information about the disease.
Library Material Due Dates
The library will be adjusting due dates for any materials due between March 14 and April 5. The earliest due date for those materials will be Monday, April 6.
