John Adams @ Cowles Library - Citizens Arise!

John Adams comes to Cowles Library, as a part of the Library's "Citizens Arise!" program

COWLES LIBRARY is launching "Citizens Arise!" a multi-year initiative to promote the importance of the democratic process as an instrument for managing the challenges of the 21st century.  There are major exhibits and speakers upcoming; a few are highlighted below, but you may view the full schedule.

  • View the blog post for the "John Adams Unbound" traveling exhibit in the Cowles Library Reading Room (Oct. 28 - Dec. 11, 2009)
  • Come listen to Gordon Wood discuss the purpose of history and the many challenges of the democratic process. Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 7 p.m. in the Cowles Library Reading Room. Free and open to the public.
  • Come listen to Beth Prindle talk about the personal relationship she formed with John Adams in her role as curator of the Boston Public Library's "John Adams Unbound" exhibit. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 7 p.m. in the Cowles Library Reading Room. Free and open to the public.
