We are privileged to have the photo essay, "Shattered Dreams," on exhibit February through March 2009, in the James M. Collier-Drake Heritage Room. The 1987 Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs are the work of former Des Moines Register staff and special projects photographer, David Peterson. The essay focuses on the hardships and struggles of the Iowa farmer during the 1980s farm crisis.

Peterson gave a multi-media presentation about his essay and photos on Thursday, February 19th at 7 pm, for the "LIVE! At the Drake Library" lecture series.
